What we found on local trade websites.

We followed the website links on Google listings across ten inner-north Melbourne suburbs. These reports show which links reached a working site, and whether the first screen on a phone offered a way to get in touch.

Nine trade snapshots from , plus our earlier plumber audit from June 2026.

Each report keeps its own sample and explains what the figures include.

The same checks, with separate samples.

We found businesses through Google listings in Preston, Brunswick, Coburg, Reservoir, Northcote, Thornbury, Fawkner, Pascoe Vale, Heidelberg and Bundoora. These are samples of businesses discoverable through those searches. They do not cover every business in Melbourne.

A business can appear in more than one trade search, so the samples cannot be added together as a unique-business total. The plumber audit was also checked at an earlier date.

The headline figures include missing website links and screened loading failures. Access blocks and browser-only failures are recorded separately as not assessable. We did not call businesses or submit their forms.

A quick check between jobs.

Find your own Google listing, follow the website link on your phone, and look for a call or enquiry button before scrolling. If you use a contact form, you can also send yourself a test and check that it arrives.

If you’d like a hand with the website, tell us about your business. You don’t need to have the words or technical details worked out first.
